Muted words: these are particular words, phrases, hashtags, emojis, and usernames you would not want to see on your notifications. Twitter gives you the option to mute tweets which contain these particular words.

- Now type in the hashtags or words you want to mute. Note words or hashtags can only be added once at a time.
- Once you’ve added the word you want to mute, you can choose to enable this in your notifications, timeline or even both
- Also, you can select if this is from anyone or people you don’t follow (this is applicable for enable notifications only)
- You can also select durations on how long you want the muting to last
- Tap save and done to exit.

- Log into your Twitter account
- Go to your notification tab

- Tap on filters
- Tap on muted words
- Tap on the plus icon and type in the hashtag or particular words you want to mute
- You can choose to enable this in your timeline and notifications if you want.
- Tap on the duration to choose how long you want it to last
- Now tap on save
Note for every word or hashtag you mute, you will see the muted icon and duration right next to each particular word or hashtag entered.

- Tap on muted, and then tap on muted words
